The new band and album name will be The True Spokes. The album will be released on Saturday, February 4th at the Showbox as part of the Winter Warm Up. The True Spokes name comes from the balance achieved when a wheel has been trued. The spokes of a wheel need to be balanced for a wheel to function and there’s no question that over the past year, the band has found that balance. The True Spokes are tighter than ever on both a personal and musical level. We also like how The True Spokes sounds like “truth speaks” and “true folks” and we strongly believe in all these ideas the new name represents.

Saturday, December 31st looks to be our last show as “Flowmotion”. This is a New Year’s Eve show at Nectar Lounge in Seattle with our friends Handful of Luvin’. Please help ring in what promises to be a celebrated year for us. The Winter Warm Up/Album release show follows in February and we’re excited to announce that The Mother Hips will be joining us for this show. This show will be billed as” Flowmotion is The True Spokes” and then it’s The True Spokes forever after that.

We’re hyper aware of all the pitfalls that come from a name change eleven years in. Everything from confusing or losing fans, to figuring out how to deal with social networking and the Internet will prove to be a challenge. But, sometimes an artistic desire and inspiration churns so hard in our guts we don’t have a choice but to follow it, regardless of the financial or social ramifications. We’re extremely excited for the new album and consider it to be one of our proudest achievements. Flowmotion has thousands of passionate fans and we cherish each and every one of you. You’re our foundation and we’re not going anywhere! You’ve built us up and made many dreams come true. We’ll continue on the only way we know how, through music, and we hope you’ll continue to support us for many years to come. This adventure burns bright!
